Overview of Bluestone National Park Resort

Located on the southwest coast of Wales, Bluestone National Park Resort in Pembrokeshire is a perfect place for families to enjoy a fantastic break in the great Welsh countryside. It is open every day of the year and not only offers a great choice of activities it is perfectly situated to explore its many local beaches and coastal path walks. The peaceful car free resort is large, in fact its 500 acres and is surrounded by lush green hills, established woodlands and even has a lake. It also has several walking and cycle trails to choose from on the resort itself.

There is lots going on each day throughout the year including wet activities such as sliding down the flumes or floating along the lazy river at the Blue Lagoon. Kayaking or stand-up-paddle boarding on the lake. There’s an indoor play area under a tall roof which features sky walks, water and sand play areas. Theres table tennis tables, ten pin bowling and climbing walls at The Hive. Heading back outside there’s the opportunity to take part in learning archery and axe throwing on the tournament field.

With a whole heap of entertainment onsite including puppet shows and dancing at different times of the day. There really is something for everyone!

There are a good range of eating facilities within the resort, including family favourites at the Farmhouse Grill. Takeaway pizzas are available to order from the Bluestone app which can then be delivered to your lodge. Or for something unique head over to Camp Smokey for some BBQ action and alfresco dining.

Choose from a fantastic range of accommodation to suit your needs and budget available. These include, one bedroom apartments, both one- and two-bedroom cottages. Then there’s a whole range of lodges available right up to those which have a total of 6 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 12 people staying. Some of the lodges are single storey, whilst others are two storey lodges and include buggies for use in getting around the resort. There are also adapted lodges which include wet rooms and have wider doorways. The website itself is very useful and informative in making the selection process easy.

With so much going on it may be tough to leave the resort itself, however the popular coastal resort of Tenby with its colourful houses, harbourside beach and other beaches nearby offers a great day out.  Nearby the Pembrokeshire Coast Path also offers great days out and fine coastal views for those who love putting on their boots and setting off for the day. Whilst a visit to Narbeth village shouldn’t be missed if you enjoy discovering wonderful independent retailers.

Accommodation options at Bluestone National Park Resort

There are several options to look at when selecting an accommodation at Bluestone National Park Resort. The website is very informative and makes it easy to make an informed decision. The choices include a studio apartment which is suitable for two guests and features a king-sized bed. It is in the heart of the action which is ideal when you want to head out for a relaxing coffee of a morning.

There’s also either one or two bedroom cottages, these are also perfectly located to access the main facilities such as the restaurants. They are arranged over two floors and include fully equipped kitchens, open plan living rooms, king sized beds and include free WIFI.

There are lodges available to select depending on what your individual needs might be, your budget and how big your visiting party is. These can be single storey dwellings or arranged over two floors and differ in their number of bedrooms. With some lodges having two bedrooms through to those lodges, such as the Tenby Connect and the Pembroke Lodges which have six bedrooms and can accommodate up to 12 guests.  

There are also adapted lodges which offer dedicated parking bays, buggies provided, emergency pull cords and wet rooms. Such as the Platinum Solva Adapted Lodge which includes a private patio.

    There is much to discover, see, enjoy and take part in at Bluestone National Park Resort. These include things to help you relax, have fun, challenge yourself and overall have a great time whilst you’re here.

    Activities include walking and cycle trails within the resort itself. You can even take part in an explorative electric mountain bike tour on the nearby trails. There’s climbing walls, zip lines, jumping platforms, safe tree climbing and an aerial adventure course. Take part in archery or axe throwing lessons. Learn how to create fire and play laser tag in the woods. Have fun at the soft play area or enjoy a good bounce and giggles with friends at the bouncy castle.

    There’s a whole range of enjoyable learning entertainment and activities including Samba Drumming and willow wand making. Watch a movie, play ten pin bowling or discover what lies beneath the surface and become an outdoor detective.

    The Blue Lagoon is a big draw and it should be as it promises lots of fun in the form of slide rides, wave pools, spa pools and the lazy river.

Things to do near Bluestone National Park Resort

A short drive away, ten miles approximately is the very popular coastal and pretty harbourside town of Tenby. Which has several different sandy beaches and is ideal for long days spent on the beach and crab fishing. Eating the latest local catch and exploring nearby islands. There are coastal paths to explore here and the opportunity to take part in coastal adventures such as paddle boarding and coasteering.

There’s beaches to discover and castles to see at nearby Manorbier. There’s also Pembroke castle which dates to 1093 and has a dungeon tower. Folly farm is very popular for families who have young children which has an impressive mix of animals and play areas including a unique indoor fun fair.

A wonderful day out can also be had out by heading to St Davids with its impressive cathedral and lots of independent art galleries.
