The reason why Gisburn is a popular location as a holiday base is geography, a bit like being in the right place at the right time, tourism around Gisburn has taken off leading to a number of holiday, caravan and lodge parks. Gisburn sites on the edge of the Forest of Bowland within the Ribble Valley and is also home to Gisburn Park. Pendle Hill is a great walk and you can make it from the village itself if you like a hike. The Yorkshire Dales are nearby and within driving distance.
