Perranporth, Cornwall

Perran Sands Holiday Park gets our nod as the top beach holiday park in our opinion, simply because it is a great holiday park the backs on to Perranporth beach, just a gorgeous beach that has everything. The park is a short drive from the small town of Perranporth, really pretty, it has a great bar on the beach, lots of shops and everything you need, including good takeaways! This is one of our favourite Haven holiday parks, packed with facilities like indoor pool with flumes, outdoor pool with a lazy river, very big entertainment venue, climbing wall and even a surf school. It really is about the beach though, it is a fantastic beach, very clean, great for sand castles, great surf, lots of space and lifeguards on duty in the summer. We love this park and we love Perranporth beach even more, along with Woolacombe, probably the top two beaches in the country!

holiday parks by the beach in Perranporth

Croyde, North Devon

So if we love Woolacombe so much, why have we plumped for Ruda, around the corner in Croyde. Ruda wins because none of the holiday parks in Woolacombe are right by the beach, you can walk down from some, drive (but parking is a nightmare in the summer) and the Woolacombe Bay parks operate a bus service to the beach. Ruda wins though because it is right by the beach, about 100 yards from the park entrance to touching the sand. Croyde gets busy in the summer, but not quite as mad as Woolacombe and there is plenty of space, especially when the tide is out plus great rock pooling as well. Croyde is famous for being one of the best surfing beaches in the country, especially at low tide and has several surf schools right by the beach. Please only swim in the life guarded areas though and enjoy the waves, they are great fun. A top Parkdean holiday park, lots of facilities but the beach really is the reason why people come to Croyde, that and a bite to eat at Blue Groove!!!

A Picture of Croyde Beach in North Devon

Tenby, Pembrokeshire

We have rated Kiln Park Holiday Centre lots of times in our research, it is a great Haven park, one of their best. It has great facilities as you would expect, a great park for a dog friendly holiday in Wales and has static caravans for sale. It is the beach though that really makes the park, it is particularly stunning! Not quite the great surf that Croyde and Perranporth gets but still it provides some good waves on it's day. The water is crystal clear and the sand is perfection with the town of Tenby at the eastern end of the beach. It has all of the facilities, indoor and outdoor pools, crazy golf, entertainment venue and much more but here is it the beach and the town that are the main attractions. Tenby is a great town, lots of little shops, everything you could want, fish restaurants, coffee shops, a really pretty and interesting town to visit and well worth the journey.

A Family Enjoying a Game of Golf

Bowleaze Cove, Dorset

Waterside Holiday Park at Bowleaze Cove in Dorset is really well known in the industry for being a top quality five star holiday park, everything is maintained to the very highest standards and the park has great facilities. The big draw beach wise here though is Weymouth, just a short drive away along the sea front. Weymouth is famous for its sand, it is reputed to have the finest sand in the country, it really is so fine and the town makes the most of its beach. There is a lot going on beachside, events, sand castle competitions and much more, especially in the summer. The park is at the end of the eastern end of the bay but the best sand is in Weymouth itself. The park has great facilities, very nice indoor pool and an entertainment venues that is set away from the caravans so you don’t get any noise at night. It is very family friendly and Bowleaze Cove is a nice enough beach in itself, right on your doorstep. A top beach holiday park and a credit to the owners!

A Family Walking Along a Path with a Mascot for the Holiday Park

Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

We had to pick a holiday park in Great Yarmouth as this is one of the beast beach locations in the east of England, a fantastic town that has been serving the tourism industry since Victorian times and has everything with lots of places to visit nearby and plenty of attractions. We plumped for Seashore Holiday Park because it is right by the seashore, literally right by the beach and hence the name. The other big attraction is the on site water park, the weather is not always great in England and the water park is the solution to the days when the sun is not out. This is the perfect holiday park on the east cost if you want an easy to access park, very family friendly, by a great beach with top notch facilities on site and lots to do nearby.

A Adult Male Walking a Small Child Towards the Sea as the Sun is Setting

Brean, Somerset

Holiday Resort Unity is massive and a short walk to Brean beach. This isn’t a quiet and peaceful resort for a romantic weekend away, it is huge and has everything right next to a great beach and is really easy to get to from the M5. There is everything here including a splash park and a theme park and the area has lots of big holiday parks and is totally geared up towards caravan holidays. So if you want an 18 hole golf course, fishing, swimming pools, entertainment, everything for the family to do, pet friendly and lots more that isn’t a massive trek down the M5, this is perfect and the beach is really nice as well. It doesn’t get the big waves of Devon and Cornwall, but the sand is really nice and it is very long, ideal for families.

Two Children Holding a Towel Above their Heads on a Beach

Lossiemouth, Scotland

Silver Sands Holiday Park is right by Covesea West Beach, a very short drive from Lossiemouth in Scotland. We have covered some holiday parks down south, here is our pick of the bunch in Scotland although there are many more. The beach here is the obvious attraction, 2 miles of sandy beach backed by dunes that sweep around, it is a very pretty beach with the town to the east and the lighthouse to the west. If you want a holiday park in Scotland by the beach that is family friendly, this is our top pick. The park has a lot of facilities including entertainment venue and an indoor pool, there is a surf school as well nearby and it is also dog friendly and right by the beach.

A Family of Four Sat at a Table on the Decking of their Holiday Home on a Bright Sunny Day

Dymchurch, Kent

New Beach Holiday Park is literally over the road from the beach, a sandy beach with groins along to prevent erosion and benefits from a new and very long promenade so you can always walk along and find a quiet stretch as it can get busy in the middle of summer. The park is in Kent, really easy to get to from London which may appeal to many. This is a nice, medium sized park with a modern entertainment venue and an indoor pool with pool activities and a full entertainment program, great for a beach holiday park in Kent and is backed by fields. The park also has a kids club, climbing wall, segways and lots of activities on site, lots to do, easy to get to, the only draw back is that the beach gets covered at high tide but well worth a visit!

Westward Ho! North Devon

Beachside Holiday Park in Westward Ho! Is an independent park, it doesn’t have many facilities but overlooks the beach and the sea at Westward Ho! Westward Ho! Is a growing town, really tailored to tourism and has a great beach with a ramp down to it so is perfect if easy access to the beach is required. It is a long and sandy stretch of beach backed by boulders and gets some great waves. The beach is lifeguard patrolled in the summer and has surf schools and lots of things to do right by the beach like go-karts and crazy golf. The park itself is really well positioned with beach views from many of the caravans and is right on the South West Coastal path. You can always try a Hockings ice cream here as well, definitely the best ice cream in the world and is made in nearby Appledore. Great value for money, easy access to a great beach and lots to do nearby!

A View of the Holiday Park next to the Sea with An Open Air Swimming Pool in the background and flowers in the foreground

Bude, Cornwall

We thought long and hard about the last park to include and plumped for Widemouth Bay Caravan Park near to Bude in North Cornwall. This park is really beautiful, very well-spaced out and a short walk down to the stunning Widemouth Bay, a long sandy beach with great waves and in a really unspoilt area. Because Bude really is not close to the other major tourist destinations in North Cornwall, it tends to be a bit quieter, a very pretty town and the Bude Sea Pool is a must visit and free! (Take your wetsuit). A real traditional family park, kids club, swimming pool, evening entertainment and in a beautiful location, the beach is gorgeous and easy to see why this makes our top ten beach holiday parks in the UK
