Lincolnshire has been a favourite destination for holidays for many years following the arrival of steam trains to the area. The areas around Skegness, Ingoldmells, Cleethorpes and Mablethorpe rapidly developed as they were easy destinations to reach from the midlands for workers holidays. The boom period really started in the 1960’s as the demand for camping, touring and caravan holidays really took off and Lincolnshire exploded as a tourist destination with the development of a large number of holiday parks. 
Today, Lincolnshire represents a great location for a family holiday, there are a large number of holiday parks, touring parks, holiday cottages and camping for all the family. The parks have evolved and now represent some of the finest in the country for their facilities, there are also a plethora of holiday parks with fishing lakes in the area and parks by the many beaches from bustling towns to pretty little villages.
