In fact, it is probably the perfect spot in Somerset as the other main beach, Burnham on Sea has a year round dog ban. We chose Doniford Bay Holiday Park for similar reasons as for the Holiday Resort Unity but on a smaller and more intimate park, perfect for couples and young families that love a dog walk. We also chose it because it is literally a stone’s throw to the beach, you could throw a stone on the beach from some of the caravans. The beach is a mixture of pebbles and sand with the upper section being mostly sand so ideal for a dog walk and the views are stunning. This is a dog friendly beach all year around so you can come any time you wish to take a walk.
Again, Doniford Bay Holiday Park has some great facilities including an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool. There are a great range of activities as well including a fantastic climbing wall and a zip wire, a perfect holiday park if you like activities and there is also an entertainment centre. This is also a dog friendly holiday park and if you stay here, a visit to Dunster Castle is a must, it really is very interesting and educational.

Riverside Holiday Village is a short drive from Weston-Super-Mare and has been extensively refurbished and now offers a range of very high quality accommodation along with a new holiday lodge park. Whilst the beach is a short drive away, we chose the park because it has good quality facilities and is dog friendly with a dedicated dog walking field. Dogs must be kept on a lead when walking around the park as it is by the River Axe which is home to a range of wild birds including swans and geese. There is a fishing lake here and you can also fish on the River Axe so if you like a spot of course fishing and want a dog friendly holiday park in Somerset, this is an ideal choice.
Riverside Holiday Village near Weston-Super-Mare has a very nice indoor heated pool which really reflects the quality of the park itself as a family friendly, high quality park. The is a bar and club house boasting a new sports bar, dedicated dog walking field, arcade with a kid’s zone and an adventure play area. This is a great holiday park if you want to relax, get close to your family, enjoy a spot of fishing and be in a central location for exploring Somerset with easy access to the motorway.
