Holiday Parks in Scotland

Scotland is a great place to visit, a diverse country in culture and landscapes, Scotland is one of the most scenic places you will ever visit. From the main cities like Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, to the Highlands and the lowlands of Scotland, the scenery is stunning. There are lots of holiday parks in Scotland and unlike England and Wales, there are as many inland as there are on the coast. Due to the weather, a lot of these holiday parks have moved to lodges and log cabins, just to keep you warmer in the cooler months. This wide variation in locations means that the parks are generally more diverse with different facilities and different reasons for visiting.

There are still lots of caravan parks, lodge parks and touring parks on the coast in Scotland as the country has some amazing beaches. When we say amazing, there are some really stunning beaches in Scotland and we even have a page which has the best holiday parks by the sea in Scotland. Ayr Beach for example has a Haven holiday park nearby and is  fantastic beach if you want a seaside self-catering holiday in Scotland.

There are a lot more holiday parks inland in Scotland than England and Wales, probably because Scotland has a more diverse landscape. For example, there are a number of holiday parks around Loch Ness and Loch Lomond and several other loch’s as people need holiday accommodation as a base to explore the loch’s. There are a good number of campsites around the lochs, in the Scottish countryside and in the National Parks which are a great way and relatively cheap way to explore the area.

Many of the parks in the Scottish countryside either have caravans or lodges, in fact sometimes it is now hard to distinguish between the two. As Scotland can get quite cold, caravan and lodge holidays in Scotland are very popular. Modern caravans tend to have double glazing, central heating and improved insultation so you can use them during the winter months.

There are a decent number of touring parks in Scotland as well, probably more than your would expect. Many people that visit Scotland don’t want to be limited to one location and this has increased demand for touring pitches and more recently motorhomes parks in Scotland quite significantly. The North Coast 500 has become very popular and primarily covers the stunning coastlines of northern Scotland on the east and west and far north coasts with motorhomes as the most popular choice of transport.

Scotland has some great holiday parks, really diverse in great locations for woodland parks, beachside caravan sites to luxury lodge holiday parks by the side of the loch and here we have some great parks for you to enjoy!
