There's lots to do locally and the area is superb for those who enjoy being surrounded by the smells and sites of open countryside and everything that offers. Whether that be enjoying long scenic forest walks, canoeing or more recently stand-up paddle boarding. There's plenty of opportunity for wildlife spotting and famous scenic photograph spots with royal approval to visit and highland safaris to book which are all fantastic choices when staying here within the Tay Forest.

Upon returning from a day’s adventure there is as much or as little to do depending on what you prefer. Surrounded by Tay Forest Park, and on the banks of the River Tummel just a touch to the east of Loch Tummel is the idyllic and restful Parkdean Resort Tummel Valley Holiday Park. There are several different accommodation options which include caravan holiday homes and luxury lodges with some including hot tubs. There is also the opportunity to become a holiday home owner here in the beautiful Scottish region of Perthshire just south of the Cairngorms National Park.

There are 21 caravan types in total and 9 lodge choices. All of these have double glazing and central heating with the majority of those being pet friendly stays. Two of the lodges include hot tubs with three of the accommodation choices being accessible units with features such as wet rooms and having an access ramp with wider door frames. All the accommodation choices have either 2 or 3 bedroom layouts and can accommodate up to 8 guests. Some have furnished outdoor verandas and private parking such as the Butternut Lodge which is also a pet friendly option.

    Slow down and relax at this wonderful Parkdean Resort Holiday Park located next to the River Tummel and only a short distance to the Loch of which the Park and river shares its name. With woodland adventures, water activities and hills to climb all around there's an abundance of things to look forward to each day. So, it's either relax when you return, or continue the fun. Whatever you choose we're sure this holiday park has everything you need to make it the perfect place to stay.

    There is an indoor swimming pool which is perfect for either a gentle swim or a splash about with the kids. There is also a smaller splash pool which provides a safe environment for the younger visitors to play in. There is a sauna which offers a quiet retreat for the adults to sneak off to and relax in. Outside, there is an adventure playground, a mini golf course and a wildlife nature trail. There's also a multi-sports court area where all ages can bounce or kick a ball or two about.

    Food and refreshments are available via The Boathouse Bar & Restaurant where they serve food throughout the whole day, and you can also grab a coffee. There is a convenience store, laundrette and an entertainment venue which has entertainment suitable for all ages and members of the family.

Places to visit near Tummel Valley Holiday Park

With so much on offer locally you will be spoilt for choice especially if you love all things outdoors. There are plenty of local walks and cycle routes within the area known as Strathtummel. A visit to Queens View should not be missed which offers fine views of the Loch and Tay Forest. There is a visitor centre here including a shop and tea-room. 

Down on the loch you can fish for a range of species at certain times of the year including the impressive pike and wild brown trout. If you prefer to get out on the water rather than on the banks, then Loch Tummel offers fantastic opportunities for kayaking. There's also a road around the circumference of the loch so cycling around it is also an option.

Further afield there are highland safari trips with a range of different experiences to choose from including off road and a mountain experience. Or maybe visit the zip line adventure at Go Ape Aberfoyle. Each day’s adventures could be finished off with a trip to the Dewar's Aberfeldy Distillery to discover all things whiskey.
