Skipton, Yorkshire

Bowland Fell Holiday Park is set to the edge of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and to the west of the Yorkshire Dales National Park about equal distance between Settle and Skipton in West Yorkshire. The main attraction here is the Forest of Bowland where there are so many great walks and the holiday park itself has amazing views over the forest. The Forest of Bowland has hundreds of miles of forests, felltops and uplands with dog friendly walks, it is best to keep your dog on a lead though as there are livestock roaming the open fells and to protect the wildlife. There are lots of well mapped walks within the forest and it offers some spectacular back to nature walks along with great views when you get to the fell tops!

Bowland Fell Holiday Park is a Park Holidays park but slightly different in that the facilities are limited and there is no entertainment. This park is really all about the beautiful scenery and the tranquillity. The park is set in 130 acres so it is not cramped at all, there is an indoor heated pool, play areas, shop and a very pretty traditional Inn with a  restaurant. For guests at Bowland Fell Holiday Park, the real attraction is always going to be the location, a perfect dog friendly holiday park for woodland walks and relaxation.

Reighton Sands Holiday Park has to make it on the list for the top dog friendly holiday parks in Yorkshire because it has everything and is right on a beautiful beach which is also dog friendly and has private access to the beach. There are no dog restrictions on the beach and what a beach it is. Low tide provides a vast expanse of sand so there is a massive amount of space for your dog to stretch its legs without bothering other people or being bothered! The beach is gently sloping so there are no safety issues and it is very easy to reach from Reighton Sands Holiday Park which makes it ideal if you don’t like struggling through dunes or up and down lots of steps.

The other real reason is that Reighton Sands Holiday Park is one of the larger of the Haven holiday parks and has some fantastic facilities that pretty much appeal to all. There is a 9 hole golf course on the park, an indoor pool and an outdoor lazy river which is great fun in the summer months. You get a big entertainment complex with entertainment in the day and evening and lots of activities like archery, basketball, den building and much more. So if you want a holiday park by the beach in Yorkshire that is dog friendly, Reighton Sands Holiday Park has it all!

Cayton Bay, North Yorkshire

Cayton Bay Holiday Park is similar to Reighton Sands in many ways although more central to the action. The beach here is accessed via a short walk from the park and allows dogs on the beach all year around.  The park itself has a good range of dog friendly holiday accommodation and has some great facilities and activities, actually the list of activities on the park is pretty endless, you can even have a pool party!
Cayton Bay is generally quiet although popular with surfers as it offers some of the best waves around on the Yorkshire coast and you can get surf lessons here as well. It is a very interesting beach, with different features all along and is mainly sand and due to the fact that it is generally quiet, there is always plenty of space to enjoy the beach.

Cayton Bay Holiday Park has pretty much everything you will need from an indoor pool with waterslide, mini golf and there is a great dog activity park called the woof park! There is a full entertainment venue, bar, restaurant and take away as well as a Costa, soft play area for the kids as well as a kids club. The park is large in a beautiful area with a great splash pool and pretty much offers something for everyone and your dog will be very well catered for here.

Crow's Nest Caravan Park is an independent park next to the Haven Blue Dolphin park in Gristhorpe near Filey. You are near the town and its great sandy beach with a large number of parks nearby so the area is really geared up for tourists. Crow's Nest Caravan Park is pet friendly and they have an enclosed pet area so that you can let your dog off the lead to get some exercise in an enclosed space. They also have a dog friendly conservatory so you can take your pet out for the evening with you as  some dogs really do not like being left alone in spaces they are not familiar with.

The park is in a great location and has an indoor swimming pool open during the summer months with flumes. There is the Crow's Nest bar with an outdoor area and a big screen for sports and a fish and chip shop for a takeaway if you don’t want to cook.
