Primrose Valley Holiday Park is set right by the beach in the popular town of Filey, winner of the Sunday Times ‘Beach of the Year’ in 2018 so you can understand why we have chosen it as one of our favourite holiday parks in Yorkshire. The location is relatively quiet and the beach has a long expanse of sand backed by cliffs and the beautiful town with its traditional Victorian buildings providing a stunning back drop.
Primrose Valley Holiday Park has direct access to the beach and is one of the largest Haven holiday and caravan park resorts and therefore comes with a huge range of activities, amenities and accommodation. There is even a fishing and boating lake along with go-karts, aerial adventure, foot golf and sports for the younger ones. There is an indoor pool with a water slide and in the summer months, the outdoor pool here is great, a real day time base for your holiday. As one of the largest Haven parks by ones of the best beaches in Yorkshire, Primrose Valley Holiday Park deserves to be at the top, ideal for a family holiday by the beach on the Yorkshire coast

Barmston, Yorkshire
Barmston Beach Holiday Park is set by Barmston beach with Bridlington to the north and Hornsea to the south and is a short drive to Skipsea. This is a dog friendly beach all year around and is quiet, even in the summer months, especially around the Barmston area so you will never struggle with crowds. The location is quiet, the vast majority of beach users are either from the village or the holiday park so there is always plenty of space and if your dog loves the de, this is an ideal beach, gently sloping and safe for all including young children.
Barmston Beach Holiday Park is a Parkdean Resorts park with a good selection of caravans and lodges available to hire and they are quite well spaced out. The park is relatively sedate and relaxed given the location and more popular with families with younger children than teens and also a pet friendly holiday park. There is an outdoor heated pool but no indoor poor and the standard Parkdean entertainment team provide entertainment at the show bar. This park is really suited to families that want either a dog friendly holiday park by the beach in Yorkshire or for a relaxing holiday with younger children set in a beautiful location with easy access to a cracking beach.

Sand le Mere Holiday Park is quite similar to Barmston in many ways although probably more suited to families with both older and younger kids to a certain extent. The park is a short walk to Tunstall Beach which is a mixture of sand, pebbles and shingle and very similar in looks and feel to Barmston. Again, the beach is primarily dominated by visitors from the holiday park so it doesn’t get that busy but probably busier that Barmston on hotter sunny summer days. Again, a very gently sloping beach so it is family friendly and Withernsea is a short drive away.
Sand le Mere Holiday Park is a Park Holidays park that has had a lot of investment in recent years including a refurbished leisure complex that has an indoor pool, steam room and sensory room. We also really love the activity zone for the kids and you can also hire a Segway. This is a park with a lot going on, it is rural but that is balanced by a lot of on site entertainment and great facilities including a fishing lake, climbing wall and indoor and out door play areas for the kids. A more upbeat holiday park, the beach is really close by so you get great facilities and entertainment near a cracking beach.

Blue Dolphin Holiday Park is a Haven holiday park, it isn’t directly near the beach as it overlooks Gristhorpe bay but it is a short drive into Filey with its stunning five mile long beach that has everything for a traditional Yorkshire seaside holiday. Filey Beach is very beautiful with a promenade running along the front and plenty of parking with easy access, very popular in the summer months but the sheer size means that you can always find some space. The big attraction here is the expanse of sand backed by a town that is geared up for tourists making it a popular beach destination and with a great deal of character.
Blue Dolphin Holiday Park is a traditional Haven park with lots of entertainments and facilities. The indoor pool is pretty big and they offer a lot of activities in the pool as well, the outdoor pool is a decent size as well. You get the standard Haven entertainment geared towards kids and families in the early part of the evening with shows later on and great facilities that include a fishing lake and a new virtual batting arena, great fun for the older ones. Blue Dolphin is geared towards families that want to be nearer the action than the other three parks, Fily’s beach is beautiful and there is a lot more going on in the town so you won’t get bored!
