Caravan Parks in Scotland by the Beach

Our Favourite Beachside Caravan Holidays in Scotland

Scotland has some truly amazing beaches in a wide variety of locations with gorgeous, remote and empty beaches on the islands such as Calgary Bay on the Isle of Mull or Tolsta Beach on the Isle of Lewis where surfers visit even in the winter to take on the challenges of the perfect waves that form there. Scotland has beaches that are stunning in easier to reach parts such as Aberdeen Beach, does any other city in the UK have a beach this good? (The answer is no by the way).

Coldingham Bay is within easy reach of Edinburgh, a popular beach on a summers day with great surf, sand and is lifeguard patrolled. St Andrews might be famous for the golf, it also has one of the best beaches in the country as well, perfect for a winter walk with the dog! You can view some great holiday parks for surfing holidays here and why not browse through our top UK seaside caravan parks.

We have a small selection of seaside holiday parks by the beach in Scotland for you to enjoy. If you think we have missed one or would recommend a park for caravan holidays in scotland by the beach or near the sea, please let us know as we would love to hear from you.

Dumfries, Dumfriesshire

Lighthouse Leisure Caravan Park is an independent holiday park right on the doorstep of Southerness Point near to Dumfries in the south west of Scotland and easily accessible from Cumbria in England. This is a family run park, traditional and in a beautiful iconic location without a massive drive for many and that is just one of the attractions. This is a four star holiday park with an indoor pool, just a couple of minutes from the beach and has both static caravans and facilities for tourers.

Lighthouse Leisure Caravan Park has a lounge bar with entertainment during the main season and a separate adults only bar as well as a kids club during the main holidays. This is not a large group holiday park with huge facilities, just a simple park, near a great beach that is a smaller version in a unique location. You have a great beach and a golf club within walking distance and lots of interesting places to visit in Dumfriesshire, something different near a great beach.

Lossiemouth, Scotland

Silver Sands Holiday Park is pretty much the total opposite of Lighthouse Leisure Caravan Park apart from the fact that it also sits in the shadow of a lighthouse. This park is a fair track north, actually it is north of the Cairngorms National Park in Moray near Lossiemouth and Elgin. The park sits on the edge of Covesea West Beach which is two miles of sand backed by dunes and is a dog friendly beach and gets some great waves.  This is a traditional Park Holidays group holiday park with great facilities but with the big attraction being the sandy beach that has it all.

Silver Sands Holiday Park is a nice holiday park with an indoor pool, clubhouse with entertainment for the family and a bar and restaurant. This is a medium sized park, the caravans are swell spaced out and some have beautiful sea views and there is a lot to do in the area, there is even a surf school nearby. This dog friendly holiday park has a chop, adventure playground and kids activities and there are cabaret acts at the weekend. A nice sized park, not too big with the facilities that you need near the beach, a great place to stay if you want a family holiday park in the North of Scotland.

Dunure Road, Ayr

Craig Tara Holiday Park is by the sea but not directly by what you would call a traditional beach. It is just a short drive into Ayr where there is a long sandy beach, in part backed by an esplanade and the beach is dog friendly. Ayr has been a tourist resort since the Victorian times and is a thriving town, great for shopping with a fantastic selection of both high street names and boutique shops so you get everything on a day down the beach here.

Craig Tara Holiday Park gets a mention because it is a very popular holiday park, very large and has outstanding facilities. The Splashaway Bay indoor swimming pool complex is absolutely huge and has everything for all ages from slides for all ages to a great kids pool. No matter what the weather, this is one of the best water complexes you will find on any holiday park in the UK. Not only do you get the best of the best in terms of swimming pools, to accommodate and entertain all the guests, everything is here including One Big Jump and the adventure village with indoor crazy golf, wall climbs for both young and old and a lot more. This holiday park has it all, in a big way, everything is bigger than anywhere else and definitely worth a visit if you like big holiday parks with everything going on!
