Withernsea is the main town, very friendly and based around the tourism trade with plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants, activities and amusement arcades. The long stretch of beach has groynes that run along it as this area suffers dramatically from coastal erosion, there is a long promenade that runs alongside the beach providing easy access for families. The beach is primarily sand with shingle at the sea defence wall and backed by a pretty road full of  guest houses, shops and cafes. Tunstall to the north is a more shingle and pebble beach with the holiday park behind it and never really gets busy, even in the summer.

The promenade at Withernsea is really pretty, redeveloped with the Pier Towers being the prominent feature, really nice to take a stroll, sit back and relax with steps down to the beach at regular intervals.
