Stathyre is surrounded by forest covered mountains and is nestled on the shores and enjoys views of Loch Lubnaig. This area of Scotland is known for being the gateway to the Highlands and is the ideal place to head if you love living life outdoors. Queen Elizabeth Forest Park offers visitors a whole heap of possibilities for fantastic days spent outdoors including water sports such as canoeing, forest and Lochside walks and hiking.
Onsite there is a convenience store, bar and restaurant on site and pre-bookable spa treatments to choose from. With many different bike trails locally and Stathyre offers bike hire should you choose not to take your own. There’s lots of pre bookable activities which are ideal for all ages including pottery painting, nature tots and forest survival skills.
Whatever daily activity you do choose it’s nice to know there is a great choice of cabins to return to of an evening with several of these benefitting from the picturesque and often tranquil loch views. All of them offer private hot tubs and it is a dog friendly location and there are cabins to choose from which include dog friendly stays. Cabins range in their layouts and number of bedrooms. These include 1 bedroom options such as the Golden Oak Hideaway which is perfect for single visitors or couples who enjoy forest retreats and the comfort of a log burner and a private hot tub. Whilst the 5 bedroom Golden Oak Treehouse can accommodate up to 10 guests.
There’s plenty to do within this glorious area of Scotland with gentle walks along the loch or serious hiking up Ben Ledi. The National Cycling Network Route 7 is on the doorstep. There are nice pubs nearby and shopping opportunities at Callander, Stirling and Edinburgh.

Holiday Lodges at Stathyre
There are 45 cabins in total to choose from ranging in layout style, their location, the facilities included and the number of bedrooms they have. It’s good to know that all of them has its own private hot tub to relax into which is ideal after an adventurous day’s exploration.
There are wheelchair adapted cabins such as the Adapted Silver Birch Cabin which has a wet room, and a hot tub access hoist amongst other features. These are 3 bedroomed and can accommodate up to 6 guests.
Whilst several of the cabins have barbeques it is the White Willow Premium Cabin which has that extra added touch of luxury by having an outdoor kitchen area and pizza oven. This cabin comes in either a 2 or 3 bedroom option.
There is the option of a 1 bedroom cabin which benefits from loch and mountain views. This is the Golden Oak Hideaway Lochside and can be viewed alongside all other accommodation choices on their wonderful and easy to use web page.
Facilities at Stathyre
There is a useful shop onsite and a bar, restaurant and café. So, whether it is cooking for yourself in one of their luxury cabins or heading out for a tasty bite to eat or drink. Stathyre has it covered. Including the option to order takeaway.
There is the capability to pre book bicycles to rent from the site itself so from the minute you arrive you can head out on several bike tails and rides such as the Glen Finglas Loop which does have some challenging climbs and extraordinary mountainous views.
There are many pre bookable activities which are suitable for a variety of age ranges including the very youngest. These include Nature Tots, foam clay activities and canoeing during certain months of the year.
For those who enjoy nothing more than a relaxing break you could check out the in-cabin spa treatments which are also pre bookable. These include body, face, hands and feet treatments amongst others.

Things to see and do near Stathyre
Visit waterfalls, splash in peaceful lochs, explore dark forests paths, climb mountains and be amazed and constantly stunned by the captivating scenery all around this wonderful Forest Holiday resort. There’s wildlife to spot such as deer, pine martens and red squirrels. There’s bike trails and cycle paths to enjoy depending on your fitness levels.
Head out onto Loch Lubnaig on a Canadian canoe. Take a boat tour on nearby Loch Katrine. Go climbing at the Mclaren Leisure Centre in Stirling or head over for some child friendly fun including zip lines and rope courses to navigate at Go Ape in Aberfoyle.
There’s also the Deanston Distellery to visit which is known for its production single malt whiskey.
