Locally there’s lots to see and do. With a fantastic choice or beaches to explore including the lovely sandy beach at nearby Looe and the picturesque harbourside village of Polperro. Days out can be enjoyed at the wonderful Eden Project, head over to St Ives for a day navigating the many galleries, local shops and eating your way through the day finishing off with a take away Cornish pasty.
All the cabins have their own private hot tubs and for those visiting with a wheelchair, there’s the option to stay in the Wheelchair adapted Silver Birch cabin which features a hot tub wheelchair hoist. For extended or larger families there’s an exciting cabin which includes an added bedroom only accessed via a rope bridge.
Younger visitors will love spending time at the outdoor play area and exploring the visitors to the bug hotel. Enjoy refreshing drinks, snacks and mouthwatering meals at the bar, restaurant and café, or take advantage of the takeaway or private chef options. There is also a shop onsite which sells the daily essentials for you to whip up some fantastic meals from the well equipped kitchens in each one of the cabins.
Bikes are available to rent for a day or even the full stay. There are many prebookable activities available including forest skills, archery and nature by night. Accomodation at Forest Holidays Deerpark
With 45 lodges all with their own private outdoor hot tub and surrounded by forests there should be something for everyone. Choices include cabins from 1 to 4 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 8 guests, with some benefitting from waterside views.
Choices include the Classic Golden Oak either with or without waterside views of the picturesque millpond. Both are either 2 or 3 bedroomed, include a log burner and feature a barbecue to enjoy on the outdoor living area. Then there’s the Classic Golden Oak Treehouse which can sleep up to 8 guests as it has an extra bedroom accessed via a rope bridge which also benefits from waterside views. The Classic Silver Birch is available to choose in either the 2 or 3 bedroom layout and can sleep up to 6 guests and there’s also a wheelchair adapted Classic Silver Birch cabin which includes a wet room, lowered kitchen facilities and a hot tub hoist.

Deerpark has a convenience store which sells a range of foods, beverages and some souvenirs. Head over to grab yourself the ingredients to cook up a mouthwatering meal cooked from the comfort of the cabin of your choice. There’s also a good choice of local supermarkets and local farm shops nearby. Theres a bar, cafe and restaurant to enjoy drinks, a range of meals and snacks or why not take advantage of the take away option and have some food delivered to your cabin.
Bike hire is available for all members of the family and this area of Cornwall offers a lot or diverse opportunities to get out on the road or head off to find some challenging trails. For the adventurous check out ‘The Track’ at Portreath a bike park full of challenging trails and gap jumps.
Back onsite, children will love the outdoor play area and exploring the bug hotel and there’s also lots of pre-bookable activities to consider such as pond dipping and forest survival skills to learn. 8 year olds through to the adults can enjoy archery lessons whilst a relaxing time spent painting some pottery maybe the preferred option.
There is one electric vehicle charging point available and if it’s personal recharging or even a complete break from it all Deerpark offers a wide range of in cabin pre-bookable spa treatments including reflexology and calming deep tissue massage.
Places to visit nearby to Forest Holidays Deerpark
Theres a number of locations near to Deerpark which are recognizable if you watch the Poldark TV drama such as Charlestown and Bodmin Moor.
Local beauty spots such as Looe and Polperro are nearby where you can enjoy a selection of fine foods, refreshing drinks and a Cornish ice-cream whilst the kids dip their toes in the sea or maybe not if their crab fishing! Offering sandy beaches, independent shops and a working harbour to explore, there’s much to see and do including fishing and boat trips whilst a visit to Polperro Heritage Museum of Smuggling & Fishing offers an insight to the history of smuggling within Cornwall.
The Eden Project is nearby and the perfect option for changeable weather conditions as it features a variety of plants from all over the world which are housed in large tropical biome houses. Depending on what time of year your there, you are maybe lucky and catch a band performing at the Eden Sessions on their outdoor stage. Previous artists include Embrace, Amy Winehouse and Elton John.
Head over to St Ives, Perranporth or Newquay for a spot of shopping, surfing and all-round beach activities such as sandcastle building, stand up paddle boarding and wave jumping.
