Never stayed there. Well, I’m sure after reading this you will be swiftly heading over to their wonderful website which is packed full of information and fantastic images to book a stay. Located on the south coast of England in between Wareham and Swanage and near to Corfe Castle is Burnbake. Which is a multi-award-winning place to stay which offers a real sense of relaxation in natural surroundings on the Jurassic coastline.

Set within woodlands and near to a stream children and adults alike can get reacquainted with the land and its inhabitants rather than being pre-occupied with the latest goings on delivered to them via a phone or tablet. Onsite there are woodland walks, dog walking areas and very close by there are well known cycleways.

Burnbake encourages visitors to relax and unwind, essentially not do much at all other than enjoy its local surroundings and spend time reconnecting with those people who are your nearest and dearest. However, it is also ideally placed to do as much as is possible if you are the adventurous type or enjoy getting out and about via foot, cycle rides or indeed up within the forest canopy. There’s plenty of great beaches locally including the stunning Lulworth Cove, Knoll Beach and Durdle Door. Dorset adventure Park and Corfe Castle are nearby and there are plenty of local activities to get involved in such as Go Ape, a multitude of water sport activities such as stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking and pedalo hire. Theres also plenty of local spectacular and diverse in scenery walks in the Purbeck area including beach walks, cliff top walks and walks along rolling hills.

There are many ways to stay whilst your there including touring and camping pitches, bell and safari tents hire and luxury lodges. There is even a farmhouse to hire nearby to the main site.  Theres a very useful car charging point onsite as well as a useful onsite shop which sells daily essentials. If you do decide to camp, there are showers and toilet facilities as well as washing up areas and a useful laundrette. Children can enjoy playing on the outdoor play area whilst the adults may wish to consider booking spa treatments or a private chef experience.

Accomodation choices at Burnbake

Accomodation at Burnbake includes camping and touring pitches. They welcome tents and campervans to take their spot surrounded by open fields and mature woodlands. Dogs are very much considered part of the family, and you are encouraged to bring along your well-behaved pet. There are 3 separate areas to consider a suitable pitch depending upon your needs.

There are also Bell Tents and Safari Tents to hire should you wish for a camping experience but not have suitable equipment. There are fantastic facilities at Burnbake which include electric hook up points, a laundrette, washing up sinks, a shop and a children’s play area to name just a few.

There are also several either 2 or 3 bedroomed stunning luxury lodges. Each one coming with an outdoor living area and a private hot tub amongst other fantastic facilities. These are available to hire for a mixture of 3, 4 or 7 night breaks and some of them are dog friendly.

For those who may be travelling as part of an extended family group and don’t fancy camping, then consider the Rempstone Farmhouse which is dog friendly and is suitable for up to 8 visiting guests between the main farm house and its log cabin. This lovely farmhouse includes a games room, a utility area and a private garden with a hot tub.

    Facilities at Burnbake

    The facilities onsite include a very useful shop which sells everything you might need for everyday living. Whilst the children might only be interested in buying wood for the firepit and marshmallows to toast. They also serve food from here. There are plenty of useful things to hire such as fire pits, BBQ grills and freezer block hire.

    For those travelling with electric cars you will be pleased to know that there is an onsite vehicle charging point available. Parents will also be pleased to know that there are coin operated laundry facilities so now worries if the kids come back each day covered in sand and mud. In fact, here they are very much encouraged to do so. Children will also be pleased to know that not only are there open fields and woodlands to escape to but there’s also a lovely outdoor play area featuring a climbing wall.

    There’s toilets and showers which are useful to those choosing to camp as are the washing up facilities.

    For a touch of luxury whilst your away you could consider booking time for yourself in the wellness sauna, booking spa treatments or even a personnel chef experience. They have a fantastic page on their website which I’m sure will get you excited to do so.

Great things to look forward to nearby Burnbake

Whilst this holiday destination actively encourages you to completely unwind and do nothing at all. Other than enjoy time with those you are travelling with, picking up sticks discovering the local woodland inhabitants and enjoying strolls through the woods with your favourite dog. There is however plenty to see and do, the question is will you get around to it all?

This stunning coastal area has plenty of gorgeous beaches and secluded coves to explore. Such as Knoll Beach and Kimmeridge Bay. Best thing about this stretch of coastline is it also offers plenty of equally beautiful and diverse walks with a variety of views including dramatic cliff top vistas.

For those who enjoy historical placements and artifacts check out Corfe Castle which is nearby as is The Etches Collection of Jurassic Marine Life.

Fun and excitement can be had at the Dorset Adventure Park set in and amongst woodlands and lakes, there’s plenty to do including an exciting aqua adventure waterpark.
Purebeck also offers great cycling opportunities with lots of cycling routes for a variety of different capabilities and their website provides links to local cycle routes and cycle hire.

Being near to the coast there is also plenty of outdoor adventure activity providers and the Burnbake website provides fantastic and very useful links to a number of these so you could check out the links before you even arrive and fill each day with a different water or land-based activity depending on your preference.
