Helsey Farm Cottages is the self catering holiday collection at Helsey Farm Park, a peaceful countryside retreat near Hogsthorpe on the Lincolnshire coast. Open farmland, fishing lakes and wide rural views surround the accommodation, while sandy beaches are approximately three miles away.

The park is part of Coastfields Leisure but has a very different character from the group's larger coastal resorts. Helsey is designed around quiet countryside stays, with luxury lodges, converted farm buildings, a spacious bungalow and a large farmhouse providing accommodation for couples, families and groups of up to ten.

Private hot tubs are a major feature of selected lodges and cottages, with outdoor decking, courtyards or gardens giving guests private space around their accommodation. Selected stays also welcome dogs.

Fishing is available around the park's lakes, while guests can walk and cycle across the surrounding farmland and connect with local footpaths towards neighbouring villages and the coast. Helsey also remains a working rural location with a livery yard, adding to its countryside character.

Guests who want additional leisure facilities can use selected facilities at other Coastfields Leisure parks. These include an indoor swimming pool, entertainment, children's facilities, restaurants, bars, golf and additional fishing, allowing Helsey to remain quiet while providing access to a wider range of activities within a short drive.

Helsey Farm has an unusually varied self catering accommodation range, making it suitable for everything from couples weekends to larger family gatherings.

Luxury Lodges

Two and three bedroom lodges sleep between four and six guests.

Current lodge accommodation provides spacious open plan kitchens, dining areas and lounges, with fully equipped kitchens including a dishwasher.

Central heating and double glazing make the lodges comfortable throughout the year.

Selected lodges have extensive decking with a private outdoor hot tub and lake or countryside views.

Current higher grade lodges can also provide two bathrooms, including an en suite, and large Smart TVs.

Dog friendly lodge options are available within the current Coastfields range.

Converted Farm Accommodation

The converted farm buildings provide some of Helsey's most characterful accommodation.

One bedroom accommodation for two gives couples an open plan living area, private courtyard and selected private hot tub.

Two bedroom converted properties sleep four and generally provide a double bedroom alongside a second family bedroom, fully equipped kitchen and private outdoor space.

Larger converted accommodation sleeps up to eight across four bedrooms and has several bathrooms, making it particularly useful for extended families and groups. Private hot tubs and pet friendly options are available across selected conversions.

Original farm features such as exposed beams sit alongside modern kitchens and bathrooms, giving these stays a different character from the newer lodges.

Bungalow Accommodation

The three bedroom bungalow sleeps up to six.

It has two double bedrooms with private en suite facilities alongside a third bedroom with bunk beds and a family bathroom.

A large open plan kitchen and dining area provides plenty of communal space, with a dishwasher and integrated appliances among the current facilities.

The bungalow has countryside views and private outdoor space.

Large Farmhouse Accommodation

The five bedroom farmhouse sleeps up to ten guests and is the largest accommodation at Helsey.

The Victorian property dates from around 1880 and retains period details alongside substantial modern living space.

There are two sitting rooms, a separate dining room and a large kitchen with a Rayburn, conventional oven and hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher.

Bedroom accommodation includes king, double and bunk bed arrangements, with several en suite or private bathroom facilities.

A utility room with washing machine, gardens, outdoor furniture and parking for several vehicles make the farmhouse practical for larger groups.

A private hot tub is available with the current farmhouse accommodation and a selected pet is welcome.

Helsey deliberately has a much quieter facilities mix than Coastfields' larger resorts.

Its strongest features are the fishing lakes, countryside, walking and private accommodation rather than a central entertainment complex. Guests then have the option of using selected facilities elsewhere within the Coastfields group.

Fishing at Helsey Farm

Fishing is one of Helsey's principal on park activities.

The lakes form an important part of the landscape, with holiday accommodation and privately owned holiday homes positioned around parts of the water.

Coastfields currently lists fishing lakes among Helsey's main features, allowing guests to combine a countryside break with time beside the water.

The operator does not currently publish detailed species or tackle information on its main park pages, so anglers should check the latest fishing arrangements locally before starting.

For visitors who enjoy fishing but are travelling with family members who want other activities, access to additional Coastfields facilities provides useful flexibility during the same stay.

Countryside Walking

Helsey's rural setting makes walking one of the easiest ways to enjoy the park.

Guests can walk across surrounding farmland and connect with public footpaths leading towards local villages and the Lincolnshire coast.

The flat landscape makes shorter walks relatively accessible, while longer routes can link the countryside with coastal destinations.

Hogsthorpe is just over a mile away, making it a practical destination for a local walk when conditions are suitable.

Cycling

Swimming sessions need to be arranged in advance, with Coastfields asking guests to contact the team at least 24 hours before their preferred session.

This arrangement allows guests to choose when they want a livelier resort day while returning to Helsey's quieter setting afterwards.

Access to Grange Leisure Park

Selected facilities are also available at Grange Leisure Park near Mablethorpe.

The wider facilities available across the Coastfields group include golf, fishing, food and drink and family entertainment.

Places to Visit Near Helsey Farm Park

Hogsthorpe is the closest village, just over a mile from Helsey. It provides local shops and a pub, making it useful for everyday supplies during a self catering stay.

Chapel St Leonards is approximately three miles away and provides one of the closest traditional beach days. The village has a long sandy beach alongside cafés, shops, amusements and places to eat.

Anderby Creek is also approximately three miles from Helsey and provides a much quieter coastal experience. The sandy beach, dunes and Lincolnshire Coastal Country Park make it particularly good for walking and wildlife.

Ingoldmells is around a 10 minute drive and is home to Fantasy Island, rides, family attractions and the large market.

Skegness provides the largest seaside resort day out in the area, with its sandy beach, pier, aquarium, Natureland Seal Sanctuary and traditional amusements.

Travelling inland brings visitors towards Alford and the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape. The rolling chalk countryside, villages and walking routes provide a contrast with the flat coastal landscape around Helsey.

Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby is another strong inland day out, particularly for visitors interested in Second World War aviation.
