Golf at The Springs
The Springs has an 18 hole, par 72 golf course stretching across approximately 133 acres of parkland beside the River Thames.
The course was originally designed by former Ryder Cup captain Brian Huggett and opened in 1998. Later redevelopment included work by golf course architect Tim Lobb, particularly around the bunkers, lakes and overall course presentation.
One of the most distinctive holes is the par 3 eighth, where the shot is played across water to a protected green. Changing wind conditions can make club selection an important part of the challenge.
The golf facilities extend well beyond the main course. An eight bay outdoor practice range, practice bunker, chipping green and putting green give players somewhere to work on different parts of their game.
Indoor facilities include swing studios equipped with GCQuad technology, along with a dedicated putting studio. These can be used for coaching, club fitting and practising when the weather makes outdoor training less appealing.
