Coastal Kippford is a family-owned holiday park set on a wooded hillside above the coastal village of Kippford in Dumfries and Galloway. The Aston family has developed the park since the late 1960s, with the third generation now involved in its day-to-day management. The park combines mature woodland, landscaped grounds and views towards the River Urr estuary and surrounding Galloway countryside. It has also received the David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award for 20 consecutive years, with red squirrels and a wide variety of birdlife found around the grounds.

Holiday accommodation includes two and three bedroom caravans alongside spacious two bedroom lodges. The current park-operated range sleeps between four and six people, while additional privately owned caravans and lodges are also available to rent. Selected private lodge accommodation includes hot tubs.

Coastal Kippford is particularly dog friendly, with dogs welcomed throughout the park and in many holiday rentals. Families have two separate outdoor play areas, while walking and cycling routes begin close to the park entrance.

Coastal Kippford offers caravan and lodge holidays alongside additional privately owned accommodation available for short breaks and longer stays.

The main two bedroom caravans sleep up to four people. Typical layouts include a double bedroom, twin bedroom, family shower room and open-plan kitchen, dining and living space. Selected accommodation has a dishwasher, private decking and views across the landscaped park.

Three bedroom caravans sleep up to six people and provide more space for families. Current accommodation includes a main double bedroom and two twin rooms, with selected layouts providing two bathrooms.

Two bedroom lodge accommodation sleeps four and offers a larger internal floor area than the caravan holiday homes. Current lodge accommodation includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully fitted kitchen, spacious living area and private outside space.

A separate collection of privately owned caravans and lodges is also available to holidaymakers. These vary considerably in layout and facilities, with choices sleeping four or six people and selected properties providing hot tubs, larger decks and particularly good views.

Many of the current holiday rentals accept up to two dogs. Wi-Fi is available with the principal Hoseasons accommodation, while parking is generally provided adjacent to or close to the holiday home.

Places to Visit Near Coastal Kippford

Kippford is the closest place to explore and can be reached on foot from the park. This small waterside village sits on the estuary of the River Urr and has a marina, sailing club, pubs, tearoom and shell beach.

A popular circular walk continues from Kippford towards Rockcliffe through woodland and along the coast. Rockcliffe has a small beach and views across the Rough Firth towards Rough Island.

Dalbeattie Forest begins close to the park and combines woodland walking with the Dalbeattie 7stanes mountain biking trails. Routes range from easier family cycling to technically demanding mountain bike sections.

Sandyhills is a broad sandy beach further along the Solway coast. From here, walkers can follow sections of the coastal path towards Rockcliffe with views across the Solway Firth towards Cumbria and, in clear conditions, the Isle of Man.
