Overview of Riverside Holiday Village

Riverside Holiday Village is a family holiday park at Bleadon, approximately three miles from Weston-super-Mare. The River Axe runs along the rear of the park, while the surrounding countryside provides access to local walking routes and the Bleadon Levels.

Holiday accommodation consists of two and three bedroom caravans sleeping between six and eight guests. The range includes pet friendly choices and adapted caravans for visitors with mobility requirements. Selected higher grade accommodation also provides private decking.

Families can use the heated indoor swimming pool and separate children’s splash pool. Further facilities include outdoor adventure play areas, an indoor arcade and Kids Zone, a convenience shop and a dedicated dog walking field.

Camping is available for tents and motorhomes during selected school holiday dates. Seasonal fishing is also available from the River Axe, subject to the current fishing season, rod licence requirements and a park permit.

The park is approximately 3.3 miles from Weston-super-Mare. The journey to the seafront normally takes around 10 minutes by car, and seasonal local transport operates from close to the park.

Riverside Holiday Village offers two and three bedroom self catering holiday caravans.

Two bedroom caravans generally sleep up to six guests, with a double bedroom, twin bedroom and additional sleeping space in the lounge. Three bedroom caravans sleep up to eight and provide a double bedroom, two twin bedrooms and lounge sleeping space.

Each caravan has a lounge and dining area, television, kitchen and private shower facilities. Kitchens include a microwave and fridge freezer, while bed linen, duvets, gas and electricity are included.

Accommodation grades vary in age, width and specification. Selected higher grade caravans provide private decking and additional outdoor seating, while exact layouts and interiors may differ from the representative photographs shown during booking.

Pet friendly caravans are available for up to two dogs. Pet free accommodation is also provided for visitors who prefer a caravan where dogs are not accepted.

Adapted caravans sleep up to six and include ramped access, wider internal doorways, low level kitchen worktops, a wet room and bedroom hoist facilities. Visitors should discuss their individual access requirements directly with the park before booking.

Casual outdoor holidays are available for tents and motorhomes. Grass pitches are offered in standard and larger sizes, with electric hook up available. Short stay touring caravans cannot currently be accommodated.

The heated indoor swimming pool is one of the main facilities at Riverside. A separate shallow splash pool provides space for younger children, with poolside changing facilities available. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Kingfisher Club is the principal food, drink and entertainment venue. It includes a licensed bar, separate sports bar, conservatory and beer garden. Food, takeaway meals and entertainment operate daily during peak holiday dates, with reduced opening patterns outside these periods.

Evening programmes can include live music, tribute acts, family entertainers, bingo, quizzes and themed weekends. The exact schedule changes throughout the year.

Children can use the outdoor adventure play areas and the indoor amusement arcade and Kids Zone. These provide alternatives for both dry days and when the weather is wet.

Seasonal fishing takes place beside the River Axe. A rod licence and park permit are required, and current fishing rules must be followed.

Practical facilities include a convenience shop, launderette, heated shower and toilet blocks, washing up areas, WiFi zones and parking close to the accommodation or pitch. Main facilities are on the ground floor, and many principal walkways are level and surfaced.

Dogs have a dedicated exercise field, while designated areas of the clubhouse and beer garden also welcome pets.

Places to Visit Near Riverside Holiday Village

Weston-super-Mare is approximately 10 minutes from Riverside. The resort has a long sandy beach, promenade, Grand Pier, amusement arcades, cafés and restaurants. Weston Museum explores the history of the town, while the seasonal Water Adventure Play Park provides outdoor water play.

Bleadon village has local pubs and countryside walks within easy reach of the park. The nearby Bleadon Levels provide grassland and wetland habitats beside the River Axe.

Brean is approximately 10 to 15 minutes away. Families can visit Brean Leisure Park and Brean Splash, while Brean Down provides a 1.5 mile walk along a limestone headland with views across the Bristol Channel and Somerset Levels.

Burnham-on-Sea is approximately 15 to 20 minutes away and has a beach, promenade, shops and the distinctive low wooden lighthouse.

Cheddar Gorge and Caves can normally be reached in approximately 25 to 30 minutes. Visitors can explore the caves, village and clifftop landscape or continue to the city of Wells for its cathedral and historic centre.

Puxton Park, Wookey Hole, Glastonbury and Bristol provide further family and cultural days out within driving distance.
