Accommodation at Riverside Holiday Village

Riverside offers two and three bedroom self catering holiday caravans sleeping up to six or eight guests.

Two bedroom caravans generally have one double and one twin bedroom, with additional sleeping space available in the lounge in selected accommodation.

Three bedroom caravans add a second twin room and can accommodate larger families or groups of up to eight.

Each caravan has its own lounge, dining area, kitchen and shower room. Kitchens include cooking facilities, microwave, fridge or fridge freezer, kettle, toaster and the utensils needed for a self catering stay.

Heating is included across the current holiday range, while higher grade accommodation can provide wider interiors, upgraded furnishings, private decking and outdoor seating.

Bed linen and duvets are included and gas and electricity are included within holiday bookings.

Selected caravans welcome up to two dogs, while pet free accommodation is also available.

Accessible Caravans

Riverside has dedicated wheelchair accessible two bedroom caravans sleeping up to six.

Adaptations include ramp access, wider internal doorways, lower kitchen work surfaces, wet rooms and a hoist within the main bedroom.

One of the current accessible options is also dog friendly and has a private sun deck.

Fishing at Riverside Holiday Village

Fishing is one of Riverside's strongest distinctive facilities.

The River Axe runs along the rear of the holiday park and the angling area includes a purpose built fishing lake. The water is stocked with roach, perch, chub, pike, carp and eels, providing a varied choice for coarse anglers.

Fishing access is included with current caravan holiday and camping bookings, although guests still need to collect a park fishing pass from reception before starting.

Anglers aged 13 and over also need the appropriate Environment Agency rod licence.

Fishing operates on a catch and release basis and is normally allowed from dawn until dusk. Night fishing is not normally permitted.

Current rules require barbless hooks with a maximum size of 12, a landing net for each peg and line of no more than 12lb breaking strain. Keepnets, boilies, fixed rigs and braided reel line are not permitted.

The fishing season closes between 15 March and 15 June in line with the river close season.

For anglers staying with family members who are less interested in fishing, Riverside works particularly well because swimming, play facilities and entertainment are all available elsewhere on the park.

Indoor Swimming Pool

The heated indoor pool is another major reason to choose Riverside.

The main pool has a sloping floor and is accompanied by a separate shallow splash pool for younger children.

Swimming is included with current holiday caravan and camping bookings. Sessions can be reserved through the park's booking system.

Accessible changing facilities are provided and the pool layout is suitable for guests with reduced mobility, although there is currently no pool hoist.

Kingfisher Club

The Kingfisher Club is the main food, drink and entertainment venue.

Places to Visit Near Riverside Holiday Village

Weston-super-Mare is the obvious first day out from Riverside and is approximately 10 minutes away. Its long sandy beach, promenade and Grand Pier provide a traditional Somerset seaside day, with cafés, restaurants, arcades and family attractions around the seafront.

Brean is also close to the park. Brean Leisure Park provides rides and family attractions, while Brean Down offers a very different day out with a dramatic limestone headland and far reaching views across the Bristol Channel.

Burnham-on-Sea is another straightforward coastal trip, with its beach, promenade and distinctive wooden lighthouse.

Puxton Park combines animals, indoor play and outdoor attractions and is useful for families looking for an all weather day out.

Cheddar Gorge and Caves can normally be reached in around half an hour. Visitors can explore the caves, gorge and village before continuing into the Mendip Hills.

Wells, Wookey Hole and Glastonbury provide longer inland days out, while Bristol can also be reached for museums, shopping and harbourside attractions.
