Windmill Retreat offers self catering lodges, a one bedroom apartment and adults only suites. The range covers romantic breaks for two, family lodge holidays and group stays for up to eight guests.

The lodge accommodation includes modern single level properties and larger two storey lodges. Every lodge has its own outdoor hot tub, alongside a kitchen, living and dining space, bedrooms, bathrooms and private outdoor seating. Selected lodges also have balconies, landscaped gardens, log burners or an outdoor bath.

Larger lodges have three or four bedrooms and provide plenty of shared space for families and groups. Several include multiple bathrooms, which is useful when several couples or generations are staying together.

Millers Rest is a ground floor adapted property sleeping up to four guests. It includes level accommodation, a wet room with support rails, a private garden and a hot tub. This property also welcomes dogs.

The Sail Loft is a first floor one bedroom apartment for couples. It has a king size bedroom, open plan kitchen and living area, wet room and private balcony overlooking the countryside.

The five Elements Suites provide adults only accommodation for two. These are designed around spa breaks and include a private balcony, freestanding bath, rainfall shower and access to an exclusive wellness garden.

    Elements Boutique Spa is the main leisure facility at Windmill Retreat. The spa is designed around relaxation rather than family swimming and includes a hydrotherapy pool with countryside views.

    The indoor thermal area also has a sauna, steam room, experience showers, heated loungers and a relaxation room serving herbal teas and fruit infused water. Spa treatments include massages, facials and beauty therapies, with advance booking recommended.

    The outdoor Hygge Wellness Garden includes a hot tub overlooking the Somerset Levels, cold water bucket showers, an outdoor shower, firepit, loungers and hammocks. Spa admission, packages and treatments normally carry an additional charge.

    Guests staying in the adults only Elements Suites have access to their own exclusive wellness garden. This is separate from the main spa facilities available through booked spa sessions.

Places to Visit Near Windmill Retreat

Windmill Retreat is surrounded by the flat countryside and wetlands of the Somerset Levels. Burrow Mump is one of the closest landmarks and provides a short climb to the ruins of St Michael’s Church, with views across the surrounding landscape.

RSPB Greylake is also close to Middlezoy. Its trails and hides overlook wetlands that attract ducks, wading birds and other wildlife throughout the year.

Glastonbury is approximately 20 minutes away by car. Visitors can explore Glastonbury Abbey, the independent shops in the town centre and the path leading to Glastonbury Tor.

Clarks Village in Street is approximately 15 to 20 minutes away and has a wide selection of outlet shops and places to eat. The town is also close to the Shoe Museum and Greenbank Pool.

Bridgwater is approximately 15 minutes from the retreat and provides supermarkets, shops and local services. Wells can normally be reached in around 30 minutes, with its cathedral, Bishop’s Palace, market place and compact historic centre.

Longer days out can include Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and the Quantock Hills. These provide a mixture of caves, countryside walks, viewpoints and family attractions.
