Pamper Pod

Places to Visit Near Fishguard Bay Resort

Fishguard Bay Resort is positioned on the northern section of the Pembrokeshire coast, with beaches, harbour towns, ancient monuments and some of the national park’s best-known walking areas within reach.

The Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs directly through the resort. Guests can follow the trail towards Fishguard or in the direction of Dinas Head, Pwllgwaelod and Newport, choosing between shorter clifftop walks and longer day routes. 

Fishguard is approximately three miles away for shops, cafés, pubs and the historic Lower Town harbour. Visitors can also see the Last Invasion Tapestry, explore local galleries or walk to Fishguard Fort for views across the bay. 

Pwllgwaelod Beach and Dinas Head can normally be reached in around ten minutes by car. The beach sits in a sheltered bay, while the circular route around Dinas Head connects Pwllgwaelod with Cwm-yr-Eglwys and the remains of its storm-damaged church. 

Newport has independent shops, cafés, galleries and restaurants, together with access to Newport Sands and walking routes around the Nevern Estuary. Pentre Ifan burial chamber and the Preseli Hills provide contrasting days out in the countryside.

Further west, visitors can explore Strumble Head, the harbour village of Porthgain, Abereiddy and the Blue Lagoon. St Davids is ideal for a full day out, with its cathedral, Bishop’s Palace, shops, galleries and boat trips from the nearby coast.
