Dacre offers four distinct ways to stay: timber lodges, shepherd's huts, camping pods and traditional camping.

The park has 23 Scandinavian style lodges across five main lodge types. Two bedroom lodges sleep four while larger three bedroom accommodation sleeps up to six.

Lodges have open plan lounges, dining areas and fitted kitchens. Depending on the lodge, kitchens include a microwave and dishwasher, while two bathroom layouts combine an en suite shower or bathroom with separate family facilities.

Private outdoor hot tubs are a major feature across the lodge collection. Watersedge accommodation sits directly beside the lake, while Lakeview options provide elevated views across the water. Garden accommodation provides a slightly more secluded setting away from the immediate shoreline.

Large front verandas with outdoor furniture create plenty of private outdoor space. Central heating, WiFi, television, bed linen, towels and utilities are included with lodge stays, with bathrobes supplied in selected accommodation.

Selected lodges welcome up to two pets, while other lodge types remain pet free.

The shepherd's huts provide dedicated accommodation for two adults. Each has a double bed, en suite shower, compact kitchen area, log burner, veranda, outdoor furniture and private wood fired hot tub overlooking the lake.

Camping pods are available in standard and family sizes. They are insulated and double glazed, with heating, carpet, lockable doors and covered decking. Standard pods suit two adults and two small children, while family pods can sleep up to five. Selected pods welcome up to two pets.

Traditional camping is available on 35 pitches. Electric hook ups are available and guests use a shower and toilet block with accessible facilities, laundry and washing up area.

The six acre lake is the centre of Dacre Lakeside Park and supports several of the facilities that make the park worth choosing in its own right. Fishing, paddlesports, sailing and pedalos sit alongside a particularly broad range of land based activities and places to eat.

Fishing at Dacre Lakeside Park

Fishing is one of Dacre's main purpose-of-visit facilities.

The lake covers approximately six acres and includes deeper water, reed edges and other features that provide varied fishing around its banks. Carp and bream are among the main species targeted, with roach, tench and perch also present.

Fishing is aimed at holiday guests rather than general day ticket anglers and is currently restricted to visitors staying in lodges and shepherd's huts.

The lake can become weedy at certain times of year, which may affect individual swims or fishing conditions. Guests planning a break specifically around angling should therefore check conditions with the park before travelling.

For anglers staying in a hot tub lodge, the combination is particularly attractive: time can be spent fishing during the day before returning to private lakeside accommodation in the evening.

Kayaking, Canoeing and Paddleboarding

Kayaks, canoes and paddleboards are available to hire directly at the park.

Places to Visit Near Dacre Lakeside Park

Brandesburton village is within walking distance and has pubs, places to eat and a local shop, making it useful for evenings when guests want to leave the park without driving.

Hornsea is the closest main seaside destination, around 15 minutes away by car. The town has a beach, promenade, shops and cafés alongside Hornsea Mere.

Fraisthorpe provides a quieter stretch of sandy coast around 20 minutes away, while Bridlington adds a harbour, large beaches, amusement attractions and traditional seaside facilities.

Beverley is also close to the park and is a good choice for independent shopping, restaurants, the historic Minster and market town streets.
