Akebar Park has an 18-hole golf course that follows a scenic route through woodland and rising countryside. Families can also use the free nine-hole crazy golf course and outdoor playground, while two bookable padel courts provide another activity for adults and older children.

The Friars Head pub and restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and evening meals, with Sunday lunches, seasonal menus and live entertainment on selected dates. Other facilities include a small convenience shop, beauty salon, enclosed dog exercise field and electric vehicle charging.

Walking routes begin close to the accommodation, including a public footpath towards Finghall and the River Cover. Bedale is approximately five minutes away for shops, cafés and food supplies, while Leyburn, Richmond, Masham and several well-known Yorkshire Dales attractions can all be reached by car.

Akebar Park offers contemporary caravan and lodge-style holiday accommodation for couples, families and groups of up to six guests.

The two-bedroom caravans sleep four and normally combine a principal double bedroom with a twin bedroom. Open-plan interiors provide a lounge, dining space, fitted kitchen and bathroom, with an additional ensuite toilet included in selected layouts.

The two-bedroom lodge-style accommodation also sleeps four. These choices provide wider open-plan living areas, integrated kitchen appliances, private decking and selected private hot tubs. Principal bedrooms can include ensuite shower facilities and walk-in storage, while the second bedroom is normally arranged as a twin.

Three-bedroom accommodation sleeps up to six guests and has one principal double bedroom and two twin bedrooms. These larger holiday homes generally provide two bathrooms, including an ensuite shower room, and are particularly useful for families or groups sharing a stay.

Private hot tubs are available with selected two and three-bedroom accommodation. Pet-friendly versions are available within each principal capacity group, with up to two dogs accepted in the designated holiday homes.

    Akebar Park has a varied collection of sports, family, dining and relaxation facilities within its extensive North Yorkshire grounds.

    The 18-hole golf course rises gradually through woodland, streams and open countryside. Different sections provide views across the surrounding landscape, including a wide outlook from the Jubilee Beacon at the highest point. Visitors and members can book tee times, while golf buggies are available to hire separately.

    Two outdoor padel courts are open to holiday guests and the public. Courts can be reserved for 60 or 90 minutes, with racket hire and balls available through reception. Coaching can also be arranged separately.

    The nine-hole crazy golf course is free for guests staying at Akebar Park. It is positioned close to the outdoor playground, allowing families to combine both activities during quieter days around the park.

    Akebar Beauty provides separately bookable treatments including massages, facials, manicures, pedicures and spray tans. Appointments should be arranged in advance, particularly during weekends and busy holiday periods.

    Dog owners can use the enclosed exercise field and follow a public footpath from the western side of the park towards Finghall. WiFi is available in the holiday accommodation, reception and The Friars Head.

    The 18-hole golf course is designed for a broad range of abilities. Its route passes through streams, woodland and undulating countryside, with several holes making use of the natural landscape.

Akebar Park is close to the eastern Yorkshire Dales and several of North Yorkshire’s best-known market towns, castles, waterfalls and family attractions.

Bedale is approximately two miles away and provides supermarkets, independent shops, cafés and pubs. Visitors can also join the Wensleydale Railway at nearby Leeming Bar for heritage train journeys through the countryside.

Masham is approximately eight miles away. The market town is known for its breweries, independent shops, cafés and riverside walking routes.

Leyburn is around ten miles from this park. Its shops, pubs and market square provide a convenient stopping point before walking along Leyburn Shawl or travelling further into Wensleydale.

Richmond is also approximately ten miles away. Richmond Castle overlooks the River Swale, while the town centre has cobbled streets, independent shops, museums and the Georgian Theatre Royal.

The Forbidden Corner can normally be reached in around 25 minutes. This family attraction combines gardens, tunnels, chambers, follies and unexpected features within the Tupgill Park estate.

Aysgarth Falls is approximately 30 minutes away for woodland and riverside walks beside the River Ure. Bolton Castle, Hackfall Woods and Thorpe Perrow Arboretum provide further countryside and heritage days out.
