Fishing is available exclusively to staying guests and lodge owners, which helps maintain a quieter lakeside environment. Charges apply to holiday guests, and anglers must follow the current fishing rules.

The enclosed children’s playground is built using timber to complement the surrounding countryside. Equipment includes swings, slides and a climbing frame, with the enclosed design creating a defined play area away from the lakes.

Outdoor family games give adults and children further ways to spend time together. The current selection includes giant Connect 4, with other informal lawn games available according to the park’s current equipment.

The landscaped grounds include grassed areas, woodland, ponds and habitats for birds and other wildlife. Guests can spend time around the lakes or enjoy the views from their private veranda.

Fishing is charged separately from the accommodation. Guests should check current permit prices, age rules and tackle restrictions before travelling. Baited rods must not be left unattended, and the park’s published fishing rules apply throughout a session.

    Children’s Playground and Outdoor Games

The playground gives younger visitors somewhere to climb, slide and swing within an enclosed area. Giant outdoor games provide a more informal activity for families spending time around their lodge.

The outdoor facilities are particularly useful between fishing sessions and days out in York, Pocklington or the Yorkshire Wolds.

    Lakes, Woodland and Wildlife
