Access to the beach is on foot from the park, taking around 5 to 10 minutes depending on route. The walk drops down towards the dunes and estuary before opening onto a wide sandy beach. At low tide, the estuary creates shallow water areas closer to the river, while the main beach opens out into surf further along.
The park is smaller than most Newquay holiday parks and does not have a swimming pool. Facilities are focused around a central area with a bar and restaurant, fish and chip takeaway, amusement arcade, crazy golf and outdoor play areas. There is also open space on site used for walking and a short nature trail.
Accommodation is mainly 2 and 3 bedroom caravans sleeping up to 6 or 8 people. Some units are positioned along the front edge of the park facing towards the coast, with uninterrupted views across Crantock Beach and the headland. These front facing caravans are limited and are typically the most in demand locations on site.
Crantock Beach itself is one of the larger beaches in the Newquay area, stretching over a mile and backed by sand dunes. It is generally quieter than Fistral but still suitable for surfing, with the added feature of the estuary running alongside it. Newquay is around a 10 minute drive, giving access to multiple beaches, shops and attractions.
This park is best suited to families and couples who want direct access to the beach and a quieter base compared to larger, busier parks in Newquay.
