The current lodge range principally includes two bedroom accommodation sleeping four or six and three bedroom accommodation sleeping six. Lodges occupy lake front, elevated lake view, brook view, valley view and parkland positions.

Do the lodges at Lakeview Manor have hot tubs?

Selected lodges have a private outdoor hot tub. Hot tubs are not included with every lodge, so visitors must choose accommodation that specifically lists one when booking.

Can guests fish at Lakeview Manor?

Yes. Fishing is available free of charge to Lakeview Manor holiday guests on two private spring fed lakes. The lakes contain carp, tench, rudd and perch, including carp recorded at up to approximately 30lb.

Accommodation at Lakeview Manor Lodges

Lakeview Manor offers two and three bedroom self catering lodges sleeping between four and six guests. The range includes accommodation beside the lakes, lodges in elevated positions overlooking the water and quieter choices facing woodland, parkland or a stream.

Two bedroom lodges normally sleep four with a double bedroom and a twin or second double bedroom. Selected larger two bedroom lodges sleep up to six by providing a sofa bed or an additional sleeping area within the living space.

Three bedroom lodges sleep six and generally include a main double bedroom with an ensuite shower room, alongside two further bedrooms. Bedroom arrangements vary between twin and double beds, so groups should check the individual layout before booking.

The lodges have an open plan living and dining area, kitchen, bathroom facilities and outdoor decking. Depending on the accommodation selected, kitchens can include a cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. All current lodges have central heating, double glazing and free WiFi.

Selected accommodation includes a private outdoor hot tub. Hot tub positions vary, with some placed on the decking and others located beside or behind the lodge to provide additional privacy.

Many lodges have an electric vehicle charging point beside their allocated parking space. Charging is optional and carries an additional fee payable to the park.

Pet friendly lodge accommodation welcomes up to three dogs without an additional pet charge. Guests should choose a lodge specifically marked as pet friendly rather than assume dogs are accepted throughout the accommodation range.

Several lodges have ramps that make the entrance easier to negotiate. None currently has a fully accessible bathroom, and the gravel paths around the lodge areas may present difficulties for wheelchair and mobility scooter users.

Park Facilities at Lakeview Manor Lodges

The two private fishing lakes are the main outdoor feature at Lakeview Manor. These spring fed lakes cover approximately two acres and contain carp, tench, rudd and perch. Carp weighing up to approximately 30lb have been recorded.

Fishing is free for Lakeview Manor holiday guests. Anglers may use up to two rods and must use barbless hooks and an appropriate landing or unhooking mat. Keepnets, night fishing, bite alarms, catapults and fishing directly in front of another guest’s lodge are not permitted.

The Dabbling Duck Restaurant and Bar occupies the country manor house. It serves breakfast each morning, dinner from Monday to Saturday, lunches on selected days and a Sunday carvery. The restaurant uses produce from Devon suppliers and has designated pet friendly areas.

Outside the restaurant is a terrace overlooking the grounds. A communal fire pit provides a place to sit outdoors in the evening, while the free boules area has equipment available beside the patio.

The children’s play area is close to the restaurant terrace and is intended mainly for younger children. Park Ranger activities take place during selected school holidays and can include shelter building, fire lighting and learning about the estate’s natural environment.

Lakeview Manor now has several dedicated facilities for dogs. These include a fully enclosed dog exercise area, a dog dipping pond and a dog wash point near reception. The 45 acre estate also has marked walking routes around the parkland.

Many lodges have their own electric vehicle charger. Free parking and WiFi are provided, although charging an electric vehicle carries an additional fee.

Places to Visit Near Lakeview Manor Lodges

Honiton is approximately six miles from Lakeview Manor. The East Devon market town is known for Honiton lace, pottery, antique shops and independent businesses. Visitors can also explore Allhallows Museum or visit the regular street markets.

The surrounding Blackdown Hills National Landscape provides walking, cycling and wildlife watching through valleys, woodland, heathland and farmland. Routes around Dunkeswell, Hemyock and Dumpdon Hill are within reach of the park.

The East Devon coast is approximately 15 miles away. Sidmouth has a beach, seafront, gardens, independent shops and access to the South West Coast Path. The nearby Donkey Sanctuary provides a family day out and is home to hundreds of rescued donkeys.

Beer and Branscombe are traditional coastal villages on the Jurassic Coast. Beer has a sheltered pebble beach, fishing boats and access to Beer Quarry Caves, while Branscombe has a beach, village walks and historic buildings.

Seaton Tramway operates heritage electric trams through the Axe Valley between Seaton and Colyton. The route passes the Axe Estuary and Seaton Wetlands, providing opportunities to see birds and other wildlife.
