Ullswater is approximately ten miles away. Visitors can explore the lakeshore, follow walking routes through the surrounding countryside or travel to one of the Ullswater Steamers piers for a cruise. Water based activities available around the lake include kayaking, paddleboarding and sailing through local providers.

Aira Force is approximately nine miles from the resort. Woodland paths lead towards the waterfall, with longer walking routes continuing through the surrounding National Trust landscape.
